Your opinion needed (we need as much feedback as we can get)

As you may know there is more and more fraud happening in the rewards program industry because of all the new sites showing up daily and they attract International members from countries advertisers don’t want traffic from. As a result a lot of new clients don’t want to deal with incentive sites because they all assume incentive sites have bad traffic. Since QuickRewards has been around since 2002 we already established a lot of relationships with advertisers so all these industry changes are not really effecting us. The thing is that I have a bunch of new clients who are skeptical about incentive traffic and they want to try QR out, but are afraid that because we have no minimum policy people will take advantage of their offers (no rewards program has these) specifically those who don’t live in US/CA and use a proxy.

I found a solution to please them and many other future advertisers, but wanted to ask for your opinion. If a majority of you think it’s a bad idea we will not do it since QuickRewards cares about your opinions. The best way to keep no minimum is to require that everyone redeeming for Paypal has a VERIFIED Paypal account. Verified account means that a real person (US or CA) owns the account because Paypal confirmed all the details with the bank or credit card company. QR does not allow international members to join (only US, CA, UK) and some international members who are not in these countries are using proxy to make us think that they are in US and redeem with a unverified Paypal account. We have been in this industry for 6 years now and know almost every trick in the book. We catch them and close their accounts right away, but if we had this rule they would not even bother joining. We always allowed members to redeem with unverified status, but I wanted to know if it will be a major issue if we no longer allowed that and required members to have a verified account?

I can even make a rule that if you don’t want to verify your paypal account (since it requires credit card or bank account connected to Paypal) you must redeem for a shipped gift certificate at least once. This way we know you have a physical US address. If you also were a long time QR member (over one year OR those that are less then one year and do more then just signups and trials (surveys and shopping)) and still have an unverified paypal we will not require you to verify it.

Why would this be a good change? It would allow us to get more advertisers (those who are afraid to advertise on incentive sites) and it would allow us to process payments faster too since we don’t need to check verified accounts as much as we would check unverified.

I would really appreciate your feedback on this. I don’t want to make a major decision without hearing what you all think about it.

Hi Dmitri,
I have only been with your site a couple of months and I do not have my paypal verified because of the potential identity theft, fraud, etc.
So, if you make these changes, am I understanding that I will only be able to redeem for gift cards?
Or, once I've had a gift card sent to my physical address, that I could then also request paypal payments even though I am (and will continue to be) unverified?

This would be disappointing, but I do understand that you must do what is best for the site. Thanks for asking our opinion.

Hi Alan,
No we didn't implement any rules yet. Please email support@quickrewards.net so that you can get your payment.

Hi Katsol,
You would only need to redeem for gift card once. All other times you can redeem for paypal. It will not matter if it's verified or not.

I have had a PayPal account for over 7 years, so no problem on my end.

I think some kind of verification system is good, and most "real" people do have a verifiable paypal account!

It's ok by me if it's ok with everyone else. I have a verified paypal account, so it wouldn't affect me.

Thanks for asking for our opinions, it makes me feel more like a member rather than a client.

First; your decision was already taken for about two weeks ago..., I've tried to cashout and I've received a message saying that the payment can't be made as I'm not a verified paypal user so...
Second; regarding the site I think this is a good measure to take but you've got to complete it with some others = in the joining page please remove the country list option, when I joined I see my country listed there(I'm from Romania), and after joining i've never received any message sayin that I'm not allowed to join or anything like that.
In conclusion, if that is going to be beneficial for the most of the members you've got to do it.
I've tried to be as fair as I can even if I can't be a member of the site anymore.
P.S. try to communicate more often and with more transparency with the members of the site.

I have no problem with this at all. In fact, I think it's a great idea!

If you're verified with Pay Pal you shouldn't have anything to worry about; being unverified what's the big deal, you'll get the check in the mail. What's there to hide? As a legitimate panelist we expect are sponsors to be upfront with the money and so should we be. So you go out and get an ATM card, you'll need an account to cash you're checks. That's easy enough.

My paypal account only has my prepaid CC attached to it so it is not "Verified" with a bank account (because I don't have one).

I'm not sure how long I have been a member, but I have always cashed out through paypal. I don't mind verifying my home address if need be though, so thank you for offering other options if you do implement these changes.

I would not have a problem with requiring that everyone redeeming for Paypal has a VERIFIED Paypal account.

Hey Dmitry! Do whatever it takes to keep yourself protected from fraud. You offer enough variations in redemptions that it should never be a problem for us to find something that is useable.

As many have said, it is fairly easy to find a free checking account at most banks that don't require a minimum balance. I did and don't even use the checks 99% of the time. I just use the debit card.

Also, I think it is safer to get a separate bank account at a different bank than where your payroll/mortgage etc is residing. It also seems more safe to deal with PP who is somewhat governed and held accountable than to do faxing/emailing and sending your personal info to sites. I trust you, just not a whole bunch more than you.

Keep the riff-raff out, keep doing what you do best and we'll all be happy campers.

I think it will be fair to the new vendors that are still skeptical to require verified paypal.. that way if there are members who want to try to "deceive" some vendors it will be avoided. Also redeeming for a gift card for the first time to make sure a member has physical US address is a good idea.

I have no problem with it. I do happen to be verified with a paypal account.

I do have a verified Paypal through my bank..And I have made purchases recently for candle supplies with my paypal..My question is 'How can I prove to you it is verified?"..What do I need to do?..Thanks.

To Rose's comment on "what do you do to prove you're verified". There's nothing to do because your email address that PayPal uses is hopefully the same you use for Quickrewards. If it is a different email address at QR, add it, you can use up to 10 addresses at PayPal.

I am not in favor of using paypal at all. Since e-bay they have lost money , my account has been hacked, and I have been chrged money by e-bay to a personal bank account that is not eve the bank I am verified with. I did a lot of business as a car deler with e-bay and pay-pal but when I found out about Chase having a similar set-up i switched and have had 30,000.00 gone through without 1 problem so far. they are much larger and will be payapal of the future. good stock tip.

I have no problem with this.

I have a verified paypal account but i cant join! Because i am from Europe ! I love this site its so sad! :(((((((((((
