Your opinion needed (we need as much feedback as we can get)

As you may know there is more and more fraud happening in the rewards program industry because of all the new sites showing up daily and they attract International members from countries advertisers don’t want traffic from. As a result a lot of new clients don’t want to deal with incentive sites because they all assume incentive sites have bad traffic. Since QuickRewards has been around since 2002 we already established a lot of relationships with advertisers so all these industry changes are not really effecting us. The thing is that I have a bunch of new clients who are skeptical about incentive traffic and they want to try QR out, but are afraid that because we have no minimum policy people will take advantage of their offers (no rewards program has these) specifically those who don’t live in US/CA and use a proxy.

I found a solution to please them and many other future advertisers, but wanted to ask for your opinion. If a majority of you think it’s a bad idea we will not do it since QuickRewards cares about your opinions. The best way to keep no minimum is to require that everyone redeeming for Paypal has a VERIFIED Paypal account. Verified account means that a real person (US or CA) owns the account because Paypal confirmed all the details with the bank or credit card company. QR does not allow international members to join (only US, CA, UK) and some international members who are not in these countries are using proxy to make us think that they are in US and redeem with a unverified Paypal account. We have been in this industry for 6 years now and know almost every trick in the book. We catch them and close their accounts right away, but if we had this rule they would not even bother joining. We always allowed members to redeem with unverified status, but I wanted to know if it will be a major issue if we no longer allowed that and required members to have a verified account?

I can even make a rule that if you don’t want to verify your paypal account (since it requires credit card or bank account connected to Paypal) you must redeem for a shipped gift certificate at least once. This way we know you have a physical US address. If you also were a long time QR member (over one year OR those that are less then one year and do more then just signups and trials (surveys and shopping)) and still have an unverified paypal we will not require you to verify it.

Why would this be a good change? It would allow us to get more advertisers (those who are afraid to advertise on incentive sites) and it would allow us to process payments faster too since we don’t need to check verified accounts as much as we would check unverified.

I would really appreciate your feedback on this. I don’t want to make a major decision without hearing what you all think about it.

I have no problem with it. I do happen to be verified with PayPal.What you are suggesting about those who are not verified , to redeem first for a gift card, sounds fair.

Unknown said...

Well, I do have a verified account, so it wouldn't really have an impact on me. I do see that a lot of sites do require people to have a verified account, so it's not something totally out of the ordinary to request of people. Plus, people can still redeem for gift cards with no problem. I have also seen sites that require you to be paid by check once before you can be paid by paypal, which is similar to what you're saying by having people redeem for a gift card once. So I don't think it's out of the ordinary and also think it's very fair.

I would not have a problem at all with you requiring a verified Paypal account.

I feel a verified Paypal account should be mandantory even to become a member, along with valid USA address. If it means more biz then more power to you.The stricter the better in my opinion.Nuff said.

I have a verified paypal account,so no problem with that.

Vicky said...

Great idea! I have a verified Paypal account so it wouldn't affect me, but if others have a problem with the verified account, they could always redeem for a check or gift cards.

I also agree with razamatazz in that perhaps it should be mandatory to have a verified Paypal account.

Your suggestions are more than fair, however. Go for it!

Unknown said...

I have no problems with it. I don't usually cash out for paypal and I believe I'm verified anyway.

I also have a verified paypal account and think that is a fair choice
Otherwise, they can just opt for a gift card

Unknown said...

I don't really have an opinion on this, but since I have a verified PayPal account, I don't have a problem if this change is made.

Those who have no varified pay pal account should be able to receive checks.

I also think it should be mandatory to have a verified account. There's entirely too much fraud and I'm all for whatever it takes for QR to attract more advertisers and thrive.

I also agree, the verification should be mandantory. This would make the sight safer, and elimate fraud and help quick rewards and get more business, then go for it

Sounds like a good idea to me. I usually get gift cards.

Normie said...

I as well as everyone else have a verified paypal account - granted I always opt to take the gift cards - but it would be great to know I could take paypal payment if I wanted. I also agree with everyone that if they don't want to verify (for privacy reasons or whatever the reason may be) then then can just opt for a gift card. Maybe you could make a "visa" gift card available somehow in case those that don't want to verify can still get "cash" so to speak.

Could you imagine if all these scammers out there used their intelligence and cunningness to do good things instead of bad. What an awesome world this could be.

My PayPal account has been verified for years (for eBay), so this wouldn't impact my QR status at all. I think it's more than fair to require a verified account for PayPal payment, especially since there are other (gift card) options for anyone who doesn't want to verify, for whatever reason. I can't see any down side to this requirement, and the upsides are that it would discourage people who aren't allowed to join QR from trying to cheat plus would attract more advertisers for us honest users. Go for it, I vote :)

Patti said...

Not a problem with me. I too have a verified Paypal account but I've always cashed out for gift cards. It's really important today to cut out fraud!

David Stroud said...

I agree there are fraud in the industry, but there is one problem with this about verified PayPal. PayPal is really strict. I have a credit card on my PayPal, but the problem is that any US residents need to be verified with a bank account. Not everybody in the US have a bank account to get verified. The problem with all this is that I have seen fraud with people who do have a verified PayPal accounts and all that.

VintageVendor said...

Count me in for mandatory verification. My Pay Pal account has been verified for years. If it will bring new advertisers in and stop fraud, I'm all for it. Thank you for asking for our opinion.

pcdeity said...

Sorry to be the voice of dissent, but I do not have a verified Paypal account, and most likely never will. You can no longer verify a Paypal account by credit card, haven't been able to for years. Right after I put my credit card on my account it was stolen. I leave paypal separate from my ccs and any bank account to avoid the repeat. Fortunately it was just my credit card and it was caught fast, don't even want to think what would have happened had they got into my banking.

For this reason I really hate the verified status. If there is a waiver I guess its ok because I've been a member for more than a year. Maybe a postcard mailback system for new members or the gift card ordering requirement. I hate that on other sites because they are SLOW earners:)

Dmitry said...

Hi pcdeity,
You had been with us since the early days so I don't care if you have unverified paypal.

Unknown said...

I also don't have a verified paypal account and can't since I don't have a checking account or won't paypal's credit card.

Anonymous said...

I agree they should have a verfied account.

Unknown said...

I have a verified PayPal account so this wouldn't have any effect on me. It is my first option for payment. It is safe and easy and I would suggest it to anyone and I belong to a number of other sites. It could/should be a requirement for membership.

My opinion is that if people want cash they should have a PayPal account. If they only want an e-certificate,that's fine. The funds are still spent in North America.

If this would give some of us "regulars" more opportunites, then I'm all for it!

Unknown said...

it would not be a problem with me as i try to save my account for gift cards for christmas, what would be a problem is that even though i have had my pay pal for a long time, i no longer have my bank account because of having to stop work and be put on disability, nor do i have a credit card, this could be a factor with alot of people.

Anonymous said...

i think your suggestion is extremely fair & will be beneficial to everyone in it's results.

Thanks for asking for feedback, Dmitry. This is the sort of thing that makes this site so much a favorite of mine.

Since the majority of folks who've posted on this topic, so far, are all for the change, based on not being personally affected by it, it looks to me like the change will most probably be happening.

I applaud those who've spoken up who will/would be most affected by this change ~ those without a verified PayPal acct. In fact, since so many weighing in on the 'pro side' of the issue have said that it wouldn't affect them, I think that those who WILL/ WOULD be affected should have more say in the decision. I'm hoping that that's what Dmitry is trying to consider, in asking us.

Perhaps more gift card offerings might be the solution, particularly ones that can be used pretty universally, as was suggested above. I know that if a person doesn't have a bank acct., it's really hard to get checks cashed, so that doesn't sound like much of a solution to me.

I don't have a verified PayPal account, so I guess I'm speaking for the minority vote here. I've been doing survey/incentive reward programs for over 10 years, and just recently joined QR because I like to try out new ones all the time. I usually request PayPal payment, but since you are offering an alternative (request a gift card at least once for unverified PayPal users), then I don't really have a problem with it. I should add that I'm not verified through PayPal because I don't have a checking/savings account, and the credit card I use online is prepaid, so the bank associated with it does not allow me to become verified. This saves me from headaches associated with people who hack into PayPal and steal info (yes, this has happened to me once before, and the only reason I was saved from catastrophe was due to having a prepaid card). Although I do prefer PayPal payments, I wouldn't leave the program if the payment options were changed. I love it here at QR!!!

Ken said...

I am all for it! Taking out those who are fraudulent just makes this program even better!

Janice said...

Thanks for asking for our input. I do not have a pay pal account. I have never had one. I have never felt that I needed one. I love the gift cards. When I receive a gift card I put cash (from my bank account)into my gift fund. The Walmart card is my favorite.
So, as long as I can get this type gift card, I won't worry about a paypal account. I love normies idea of a "visa" type gift card. But, if that isn't possible then so be it.

I say if you can stop fraud and keep the site going, go for it. You offer the gift card option for those of us that do not have paypal accounts. That is good enough for me. For anyone who wonders, I live in the United States. I have ordered and received gift cards before.
Quick Rewards is the best site I have found and I would hate to see it go downhill due to fraud.

Deborah said...

I also have a verified PayPal account. I always request QR payout to PayPal. Money is quickly deposited and I then have it quickly sent to my checking account. I have never had a problem and prefer this over gift cards. I have no problem with you changing your rules to improve your program.

Unknown said...

Great idea! No one should have a problem with it since most people have a verified account anyway.

Anonymous said...

I like the idea of requiring a verified paypal account to attract new clients & offers. I think it is fair to both QR & all of its members. The option of being paid with a gift card to verify address is another fair option for folks who don't want to link their paypal account to their bank or credit card.

LorieR said...

I don't think that should be a problem at all and you certainly have a right to protect your business!

I have a verified paypal so the change really wouldn't be an issue for me. I do like how the few who posted about not having a verified account are willing to go with your alternatives. I think it is a good and bad idea. I personally like getting paid with my paypal account, and yes I am verified too. i think its a good thing dmitry,to have a verified paypal account, i know mine is verified and my friends that have joined and myself have all received gift cards from qr, if every 1 has to have a verified account and not doubling up names on paypal and fake addresses then it will be harder for individuals to get the money

I think this is a great idea. One of the things I love about QR is the no min., fast payout. If that is what it takes to keep that and get more new offers then I vote yes.Since you are offering other ways for unverified accounts, I don't think a verified acct. requirement should be in place as some people can't or don't want to have that. It wouldn't be fair to just completely close their acct.Maybe an I.D. verification process(faxing proof) or something could work.A lot of work for QR but atleast you would be able to keep those members.I am verified so it doesn't affect me. Thanks for asking us, that's why I LOVE QR!!

I DO NOT HAVE A VERIFIED PAYPAL ACCOUNT AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE A CHECKING ACCOUNT AND DO NOT KNOW THAT I EVER WILL. SO HAVING TO HAVE A VERIFIED ACCOUNT WITH PAYPAL WOULD CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR ME. BUT I NOTICE THAT I AM IN THE MINORITY SO DO WHAT YOU MUST. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF I WAS ONLY REQUIRED TO HAVE TO TAKE THE GIFT CARD JUST ONCE AND THEN RESUME LIKE I ALWAYS HAVE.

I have a verified PayPal account, so this doesn't effect me personally for the redemptions.
My opinion on all of this is:
---- all members need a VERIFIED Paypal address or they can only cash out for postal mail gift certificates.
this would still allow them to cashout without the verified Paypal address. I have friends who live here in the states who don't have a verified paypal account because their Paypal account was "hacked" in the past. So they refuse to ever have it verified again. I totally understand. It happened to my daughter. I saw what damaged she went through. So I understand both sides of this issue.
I think doing this would benefit ALL of us.

Unknown said...

I think it is a great idea...if someone is not verified then ordering one gift card is a good way to ensure they have a US address, but only if they have to sign for it or something...otherwise, a person could get any US address and order one gift card, give up that amount of cash,(once) then get their cash in their unverified paypal account from then on...seems to me that might be a small price to pay to get all your future rewards if they plan to be a long time member.

I am new to QR and the survey world. I do not have a verified Paypal account and do not intend to get one. I do live in the US and feel that every survey sight should know who they are surveying. I love the daily check list, so far the only sight who offers it. Thanks again

I think as long as there is always another option for redemption there is no problem in requiring "verified" status

Thanks for asking for our opinions. I have had a verified PayPal account for several years so it won't bother me personally.
I have a suggestion for those who haven't had their account verified because they are concerned about someone being able to hack into their bank account if they attach it to Paypal. I have a verified bank account which I actually set up just for paypal & QR. Most banks dont require a minimum balance, at least not around here (MA)so might I suggest that people who are skeptical about linking a bank consider opening a free checking account for this purpose. It will make advertisers happy and is not a big deal probably for most members though I can only speak for myself.

I don't have a problem with this as my paypal is verified. I have been a member here for probably a year now and have been also doing a lot of ptr's and gpt sites A lot of those sites are requiring that your paypal is verified because paypal is closing them down for sending money to non verified accounts. They have other alternatives like alertpay or they are paying only by alertpay. Another alternative is an ecount mastercard. It can be set up here to be reloaded. They do charge a one time fee of $3.00 is the only thing I don't like.
Whatever you decide dmitry is fine with me. You need to keep QR secured from fraud.

Verified is fine, but with a verified business style paypal account I pay a fee to receive payments, so I use my sig.other's unverified paypal account to get paid from some sites (no fee). I think your suggestion is reasonable. I, too, have a verified PayPal account already. For those who are "afraid", here is what I did.

I went to a bank and opened a savings account totally unconnected to any other account I have. I linked my PayPal to this account. That way, if my PayPal gets hacked, the hackers have no access to any of my other resources. Whenever my PayPal balance gets above a certain point, I transfer it to my savings account, then withdraw it and put it in my other bank. I have had a PayPal account for 8 years with absolutely no problems of any kind, though.

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for asking for our opinion on this. That means a lot!

I do not have a verified Paypal account and probably will not get one. Paypal has been hacked into (just like most sites) and I've chosen not to enter my banking information there.

I have only been a member on QR for 8-9 months so if you decide to only issue Paypal rewards for people with verified Paypal accounts, I would be affected. I cashout for gift cards anyways but I would still like the Paypal option open to me.

Thanks again.

I think its an excellent idea. This will the ones that don't have an account an opportunity to get one (if they want or can), or redeem for a gift card. I think it's a good idea. I have a verified account, so no problems for me, and I think the requirement of mailing gift cards to verify address is a workable solution. One thing I wanted to add is to request that if QR makes this change, please spell it out on the terms of service page or the signup page, so no one has a reason to complain later that they didn't know about it.

MichaleCS said...

I have a PayPal account that is NOT verified, and I have been a member for just a few months.

If you require me to verify the account to get a cash payout, I will likely just go open a seperate checking account with a minimal balance in it (hopefully with instructions from my bank to NOT allow overdrafts) to become verified.

I have narrowly escaped identity theft and credit card fraud several times. I will not link my PayPal account to anything that could cost me more than the few dollars I load up on my prepaid credit card. I do not have a "real" credit card nor do I have any motivation to obtain one.

I understand your business needs may direct you (and apparently, the overwhelming majority of your users) to move forward with this policy, and I appreciate the need for it.

It'll affect me, but I'll deal with it when it comes.

Hopefully this change comes after a sufficent amount of time for me to be considered an "old" user who doesn't need to be verified. I just don't want to go through creating another checking account simply to have the convienence of moving my QR money into PayPal for a spur of the moment online purchase.

Cheers

I think that is a good idea. I myself have a verified Paypal. Gift Cards are also a good redemption source, especially with unverified accounts through PayPal.

This suggestion should be a "given". The more clients you can attract, the better it is for us. Thanks for trying to improve your website!

I personally feel that having what would essentially be a verified account with QR is no problem.I have a verified with Paypal, but I have chosen various reward options with QR.And will most likely continue to do so in the future.
Anyone who would have a problem with this I feel has something to hide.(this is just my opinion)Otherwise why wouldn't they want to provide their real mailing address? After all it is to receive rewards.

I just want to say I really appreciate Dmitry bring this to us and asking our opinion on this, instead of just handing down a new policy saying like or not this is the way it is.This is one of the reasons this site is the best reward sites there is!QuickRewards cares about it's members!

I have a verified account, so it doesn't bother me.

painterfam said...

I would be willing to agree to just about anything that keeps QR viable and growing ..I see no problem with needing either a verified paypal -- or a requirement to order a gift card.

Unknown said...

I have only just joined but I do many surveys and I always worry about that also. So in my opinion I think it is a great idea and I do have a verified account also. No problem on my part this will not only be a good idea it will also benifit those who get it verified in many ways.

LuvQR said...

Requiring verified PayPal accounts is fine with me. And, you have provided two reasonable options for unverified account holders to continue their membership.

Unknown said...

Awareness is the first step. When we become aware of how our choices,we can make differences,In my opinion people are not afraid to get verified if they understand the benefits of doing so and how quickly they may occur.

squirrel101 said...

I think everyone should have a verified Paypal account or they should have to be paid by check at least once,or they should only be able to redeem for gift cards sent to their mailing address. It's very easy to verify your account, there is really no reason why everyone shouldn't do it.

Kitmose said...

My Paypal account is verified, so no problems here.

I have no problem with the concept of requiring a verified paypal account. In fact I have a well verified account. And, in fact, I think it is a darn good idea to require one to help keep out the, "bad traffic". Those who foul the nest give the rest of us a bad reputation.

Unknown said...

Since I have had a verified PayPal account for several years this does not affect me. However for those who are reluctant to verify I think the idea of have to redeem for a physical GC the first time sounds like a good idea, especially if it would allow you to obtain additional advertisers.

justabassicgirl said...

hi! i am completely new to this survey thing, as a matter of fact, i just signed up about an hour ago so i'm not going to say too much! however, i will say that although i do not have a paypal account as of yet, i would not have any problem with gift cards in the interim. i do feel very good about that fact that you care enough to ask and listen to us AND the fact that you strive for excellence through integrity of your company. i look forward to working with you Dmitry.

Rob said...

I'm okay with it since I have a paypal account already.

Unknown said...

I have an unverified paypal account and will not consider verifying it because too many people have had problems with it. But then again I never cash out through Paypal. I always get Disney Dollars or Gift Cards so it has no effect on me. I like the possibility of adding a pre-paid visa card that the money could be added to.

Hi Ritika,
When you joined QuickRewards you marked a checkbox saying that you agree to the terms/conditions. The first term says:
"-QuickRewards Network allows only members from United States, Canada and United Kingdom to participate in our program at this time. We don’t accept members from any other countries at this time. If a member joins from a country that we don’t accept traffic from we will be forced to close their account without pay regardless of their balance and member standings."

Unknown said...

Being a US person with a verified Paypal account, this change wouldn't bother me at all. It would be nice if the first gift card could be for a small amount, like $5 or $10.

ladyzh said...

I just joined and like the others, I don't see it as being a problem, since I too, have a verified paypal account. I would very much like to stay on the side of better safe than sorry, especially since I have been getting fake emails from a paypal want-a-be, I would go with making sure that everyone has been verified.

Unknown said...

I think requiring a verified account for payment is a good idea. This is one of the few sites that PayPal is still honoring and I would like to keep it that way. The problems are coming not only from unverified PayPal accounts, but from owners of fraudulent sites looking for quick bucks from members and then shutting down. I say go for the verified accounts and making unverified accounts receive their first payment with a gift certificate.

Unknown said...

Fraud hurts everyone, so I'm all for verified Paypal status.

Susan said...

I think it is fair to require a verified PayPal account. More advertisers means more opportunities for rewards.

iluvdisney said...

I also think this is a great idea and is very fair! I am verified with Paypal and it would not have an impact on me. I think this is a wonderful site and wish I had found it years ago. Thank you for asking for our opinions.

drAnn's ART said...

YES! Go for it. It was really nice of you to ask our opinion, and mine is that you should do whatever you need to do to keep the advertisers happy and the earnings good.

lisaf69 said...

I think it is a necessary idea. I am PayPal verified & even if I wasn't and didn't have a PayPal account, I would not complain since you gave other options!

Sounds like a fair solution.

I have no problem with that. My account with Pay Pal has been verified. It seems to make good sense to me.

katspoints said...

this is fine by me. I have a verified paypal account. I would love to see more offers. And it is fair that they can cash out for gift cards if you don't have a verified account.

Unknown said...

I already have a verified account, so it doesn't really apply to me, but I know from selling on Ebay that I am personally more comfortable when Paypal is verified.

Unknown said...

Good idea, the more secure this program is the longer QR will be around!

potcfan said...

I no longer have a verifed account due to PayPal allowing someone to hack $1200 from our checking account. They refused to help us, so we had our bank reverse the charge, which resulted in PayPal freezing my wife's account. I removed my checking account from my PayPal account because I don't trust them.
It would be great if you did have another method of allowing the few of us to avoid having to verify our accounts.

potcfan said...

A couple of years back, me and my wife both had PayPal accounts. Someone hacked into her account and withdrew $1200 and we bounced checks, penalizing us several hundreds of dollars.. PayPal even admitted that they flagged the transaction, but failed to notify us. They refused to reverse the transaction, so we had our bank reverse it for us. Needless to say, PayPal froze my wife's account. I took my checking account off my Paypal account because I don't trust the company. That being said, If you want to have an alternative to having a verified account, that would be great if you would accomodate the few of us who don't verify our accounts for one reason or another.

Ravenval said...

I have no problem with this, since I have a verified account.

nanny1207 said...

No problem here. I already have a verified paypal acount (required for other survey sites like Esearch and MyView)However, those without a payapl account should have the option of a check or perhaps preloaded Visa Gift card.
The Visa gift cards will be overhead QR (my hubby is a Credit Union manager and he has had to buy these for the CU but I don't know the cost) - so if you go with this option you may have to increase your minimum cash out. For example if the cards cost QR 1.00 then QR will loose money if allowing cash outs for less than the cost of the card.
I also asked him about the safety of verified PAypals. He said it is possible to, but rare that the accounts are hacked.

Unknown said...

Sounds fine to me!

Unknown said...

I have no problem and think your idea will work, if enough people, will agree with the terms. But also be aware that last week I did receive a check from a Canadian address and assume an actual bank. I took it to two banks to have it verified. And the last bank kept it and plan to notify other banks and report it to the police the check was for 79,900.000. So you may still want to check out and verify all accounts from those wishing to post ads and other items. But everything does sound like it would run effectively.

craftmama said...

I agree with pcdeity. I have a PayPal account but it's not verified and I don't want to connect a bank account with it. I don't have a problem with getting something mailed to my mailing address to verify it. I do have a physical address but I live in a very rural area and all mail goes to a P.O. Box--no home postal delivery. I do get UPS (we know each other by name) and FedEx (they sometimes get lost but eventually make it) and I would not have a problem with receiving some at my home through UPS or FedEx but I don't want to connect my checking account to my PayPal account. Requiring a first time redemption to be a gift card is fine with me. Maybe you could allow those who don't mind having a verified PayPal account do so and those who do have a problem with it to request a gift card for their first redemption.

I also have no problem with this. I have a verified account with paypal, but up to date have only gotten gift certificates.

I have no problem with this and think too it's a good idea!

Unknown said...

I do not have a verified account but I am about to get it verified. Honestly I see no problem with this if it helps prevent fraud if people like pcdeity dont want to get verified then the gift vouchers are a good idea

Unknown said...

I am new here,my PayPal account is verified.so I think I have no problem with this.

kandyreyn said...

I think it's a fine idea. It only takes a few days to verify your Paypal account. I too am tired of fraudulent members.

Unknown said...

I do not mind at all, especially if it helps keep quickrewards with stable reliable source of income, and protects it's assets from fraudulent members. (way i figure it, the more quickrewards makes, the more I make).

Anonymous said...

This sounds like a good solution to the problem. You've got my vote!

Unknown said...

I think its fair to have members cash out for a gift card, if their paypal isn't verified for whatever reason.

Vickie said...

No problem with this change

Anonymous said...

I think this change should be made. It not only would allow us to get some new offers but would also get rid of some people that are fraudulently earning money through the site. Go for it! I currently cash out for online gc's but would have no problem providing my verified paypal info or having one or all of my gc's mailed to me at my home address.

Yes please do this. There is no reason anyone in the US over 18 should have a problem with you doing this. If they are over 18 they should all have access to a bank account at that point.

If for some reason they can not than the gift card alternative is a great idea. I would however do one thing different. That is include a return envelope to have the person to sign and return to you. Make it clear that its from quickrewards and that they requested the gift card.

Reason I say to do it that way if they choose a gift card is anyone across the sea can google a random us address to send to and it would therefore appear legitly. If you want to get a signature back from them before believing they are in the US, anyone not part of qr is going to be suspicious about why you want a signature for a giftcard. Theyd think theres some catch. Therefore I think thats a great idea. You could require delivery confirmation too. Just a suggestion.

mosdata said...

I have no problem with your suggestions. I verified my account years ago. I also didn't want this attached to any of my 'regular' accounts, so I went to a bank that offered a free checking account - with no min balance and linked this to my paypal account.
I also appreciate the fact that you are offering alternatives. One more reason I consider your site one of the best - you actually care about your members' inut!

Unknown said...

I think most people need the money to help with bills..So, I think they should be able to recieve a check, or pre-paid credit card.

Beth said...

From the sounds of it, and since at least one person above verified being outside of the TOS, I would say a verified PayPal should be a requirement, period. It is not a big deal to open a savings account, credit unions only require $5.00, and it would keep QR viable. It would weed out the people who are violating the TOS, like the person from India who posted here. I would say that requiring every member to have a verified PayPal account would be a good rule.

I feel what you propose is very fair to all involved. It makes us feel that our use of the site is safe and valid and worth our time as well as making the advitisors feel the same. Go for it!!

Timster said...

I think that's fair. It's the only way to protect the website.

slcybela said...

I don't have a paypal account, but it wouldn,t be a big deal to get one.

This is very fair....either have a verified account or redeem a gift card first. That way, you at least know if you have US/Canada-based members

nanascooter said...

This will have no effect on me as I do have a verified PayPal account. I think that this would create a safeguard for those of us that live in the US/Canada region.

Hi,

I joined QR about a month back and while I do have a Paypal account...it isn't verified and I don't intend to verify it as like quite a few others I was bamboozled for $600 3 months back and had given up on such sites. Decided to come back but not taking that risk again for sure. I am okay with the gift card idea for address check but would really appreciate it if Paypal payments are allowed after that. I don't really use gift cheques too much and prefer drawing out the cash on a monthly basis because that is what I need. Hope there will be a way out for people like me. Thanks Dmitry!

Cheers!

I'm new to QR (just joined a few days ago)and this is my first blog ever. I think requiring a verified paypal account is such a small thing to ask for considering all QR has to offer. I have one and it, as everyone knows, was free and easy to get verified. So why not require one?

Aestraea said...

I guess I happen to be in the minority of not having a verified PayPal account (and probably not going to verify it any time soon), but I do like the alternatives and I'm pretty sure I've had a QR account for over a year, so I'm fine with the changes.

I also like the prepaid Mastercard/Visa idea that was mentioned- that'd be something I'd redeem for sure, and it's an alternative to having verified accounts.

Unknown said...

I say it an excellent idea. I have verified paypal account. And seems pretty fair. Yay get more clients means more offers..

edwina said...

I don't see why you have to have a verified PayPal account. Not everyone has a checking account or credit card,in this case you should be able to get paid with check or gift card sent through the USPS.

CMGilbert said...

This change would not impact me at all since I already have a verified Paypal account. I also think it is a fair request and would be good for everyone here in the long run as it allows you to gain more advertisers/ offers.

I do as many surveys that the site will allow,so this change should not affect me,but I do not want to put my account # on the internet.I am a Canadian citizen, born and raised.

I would not like the gift card, but redeeming for a check the fist time would be a good idea,it is as good as money.

I am fine with the change. It seems to provide more security for Paypal users and still fair to those who don't have a verified paypal account but want to participate in offers.

Unknown said...

Since I have a verified Paypal account I have no problem with this.

Unknown said...

I have no problem with what you propose. I do not have a verified paypal but I would take the gift card anyways they make grear gifts for any occassion. Plus gift cards are just as good if not better than cash because when you go shopping you don't have to worry about having money lost or stolen.

I have no problem with that. We have to stop those committing fraud.

First, I just want to say this is my most fav incentive survey site, thanks for giving me the opportunity to earn incentives here. I have a verified pay pal account, as it is required by other business's. Any thing that cuts out fraud on the web is a good thing in my opinion. A verified pay pal account is protection for both the buyer and seller.

I currently have an un-verified UK Paypal account, for these accounts Paypal requires a credit card for verification. As I do not currently have a credit card, and do not plan on applying for one anytime soon, I am unable to verify my Paypal status. However, I have been a member of QR for a number of years, granted I am not a huge earner, but I feel that requiring a verified Paypal account would have a negative impact on UK members. After reading your post on this subject I am now confused as to the status of UK members on QR. I recently tried to redeem my earnings by Paypal but was refused because my account is unverified... Has this rule already been implemented?

Unknown said...

I have a paypal acount however it is not verified. I do not feel the need to give out banking information to a place that can not garantee my money.

I recieved tons of emails every day not week called phishers by paypal. These emails if I am not very careful can get my banking information. I do not have much money and I would like to keep what I have.
I have no problem with using paypal but I do not think you should require anyone to get the account verified. Verified account means you have to give out bank numbers and I do not think that is fair of your company to ask us to put our personal checking accounts at risk.
